I am able to assist you whether you’re a first time homebuyer, experienced owner, investor or somewhere in between. The homebuying process can be challenging, there’s a lot more to buying real estate than just financial documents and budgeting. It’s my goal as your representation throughout the transaction process to make your decision to purchase a home as easy possible. I’ve prepared a brief outline of things you may want to consider during your home buying process.

Getting pre-approved for a mortgage. Getting pre-approved for a mortgage is a critical first step in any home buying process. A mortgage pre-approval will allow you to narrow your home search parameters to only the homes that fit within your budget. After this we will be able to locate the best neighborhoods that fit your preferences and what you’re comfortable spending on a monthly payment.

Consider taxes. Every town and city has its own unique tax rates, which will influence the amount of money you’ll be spending on your home throughout the year. I will be able to assist you in locating the determining the best rates within your search area, or locate nearby communities that may offer better alternatives.

Exploring the neighborhood. Neighborhood selection is an important process. There is a huge range of neighborhoods in and around Boston, with each offering it’s own unique lifestyle. As your representation I will be able inform you what each neighborhood is like and you can determine whether or not that fits what you’re looking for in a new community.

Market analysis. I will be able assist you in securing a price that may not have been available to you had you opted to represent yourself in the transaction through market research. When we find a home that works for you I will be able to determine the fair market value of that home so if you make an offer, you’re prepared with all of the information.

Submitting offers. As your real estate representation it is my responsibility to act as a buffer between you, the sellers and their representation. I will be able to assist you in making an offer that is fair and protects you during the home buying process. If an offer is not accepted I will be able to negotiate on your behalf so that you are able to secure your dream home at a price that you can afford.

Get a home inspection. Regardless of if you’re buying a brand new home or a fixer upper, it’s important to invest in a home inspection once you feel you’ve found a home that may be right for you. A skilled home inspector will allow you to detect defects in the home that may be deal breakers, help you secure a lower closing price or give you peace of mind. If you need suggestions of inspectors that cover your neighborhood I will be able to assist you in locating the right person for the job.
